Lincoln Park Conservatory 2016 Spring Flower Show

Image
If you love beautiful flowers, you will want to stop by Lincoln Park Conservatory and check out the annual Spring Flower Show, which runs through May 8.

Tulips, hyacinths, Easter lilies, daffodils, daisies, and azaleas are a sampling of the flowers on display. Your eyes and nose are in for a sensory feast! Don't forget to stop and smell the hyacinths, and any other flower that looks like it might have a delightful fragrance.

As the flowers move past their prime, conservatory staff members remove the plants and replace them with new plants, so feel free to come back more than once. You will see a new show each time!

Located at 2391 North Stockton Drive, Lincoln Park Conservatory is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., 365 days a year.

Lincoln Park Zoo Offers Second Saturdays Garden Tours

Image
When going to visit a zoo, most people are there to see the animals. However, as you stroll along the paths in Lincoln Park Zoo visiting the animals, you'll be treated to lush wooded areas, peaceful water features, and beautiful flowers. Walking along the Nature Boardwalk, you'll see wildflowers, cattails, grasses, ducks, red-winged blackbirds, and other plants, birds, and animals that call this area home.

Lincoln Park Zoo horticulturalists will be leading a one-hour tour of these gorgeous gardens, beginning at 10 a.m., on the second Saturday of each month from April through October (April 9, May 14, June 11, July 9, August 13, September 10, and October 8). The tours are free. If you want to attend a tour, meet at the Nature Boardwalk kiosk next to Café Brauer. Tours will be different each time as the plants and trees change throughout the year, so feel free to take the tour each month!
