Lincoln Park Conservatory 2016 Summer Tropical Show

Colorful pink and green foliage at the 2016 Summer Tropical Show at Chicago's Lincoln Park Conservatory

Whether you are fascinated by the individuality of variegated leaves, enthralled by colorful blooms, or intrigued by the exotic nature of tropical plants, you will want to stop by the Lincoln Park Conservatory's annual Summer Tropical Show, which runs through September 25, 2016.

When my husband and I went to the conservatory in July, Jacob's Coat, Lily of the Nile, Matchstick Plant, Panama Hat Palm, Pelican Flower, Rock Rose, and Spider Lily were some of the plants on display. If you would like to see photos of some of these plants, you can view the photo album I created on Facebook (you do not need a Facebook account to look at the photos).

The conservatory staff members regularly remove plants that are past their prime and replace them with new plants, so feel free to visit more than once. You will likely see something new each time!

Located at 2391 North Stockton Drive in Chicago, Lincoln Park Conservatory is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., 365 days a year, and admission is free.
