When you think of October, what images come to mind? Do you think of Halloween and finding, or making, just the right costume? Perhaps you picture a field full of brightly colored pumpkins ready to be harvested and become part of autumnal displays, be carved into jack-o'-lanterns to greet trick-or-treaters, or be baked into pies for a holiday meal. When I think of October, I picture colorful displays filled with autumn's bounty: pumpkins, gourds, ornamental corn, mums, and cornstalks. If you're not already excited about the fall season, several of this month's events have seasonal themes that will be sure to help put you in a festive mood!
